Are you an emotional eater? Do you sometimes eat too much and later feel guilty or ashamed? Are Are you fed up with diets? Do you need to adopt healthier eating habits for health reasons but are having trouble making the shift? Would you like to experience more joy and satisfaction while eating? If you answered “yes” to any of these questions, mindful eating could help you to transform your relationship with food.
Mindfulness is deliberately paying attention, being fully aware of what is happening inside yourself, in your body, mind and heart, and outside of yourself, in your environment. Mindfulness is moment to moment awareness without judgment or criticism. Mindful eating involves witnessing the sensations, thoughts and emotions that come up around eating. Through mindful eating, we learn to be truly present and aware when we eat. We learn to slow down and truly see, smell and taste the foods that we eat. Through the practice of mindful eating, we become more aware of those times when we are distracted and eat mindlessly. We also become more aware of emotional eating patterns. Mindful eating is objective awareness coupled with kindness, self-compassion and curiosity. Are you interested in learning more about mindful eating?
